| Position Summary |
| A Molecular R&D Scientist I at BioFire Defense is responsible for initiating, directing and executing scientific research and/or development strategies for BioFire Defense. A Scientist investigates the feasibility of applying a variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential products, processes, and innovations. Scientists are responsible for remaining familiar with molecular biology concepts, practices, and procedures including PCR, RT-PCR, real-time PCR, and the use of fluorescence-based nucleic acid detection techniques. A Scientist I manages a team of Research Associates who assist in executing research and development efforts under the direction of a Scientist. |
