POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Associate supports the Industry Sales Lead in driving revenue growth within an assigned industry vertical of BoxHouse's high quality, rapidly deployable manufactured home business. Verticals include government, workforce housing, hospitality, residential, or direct affordable home ownership programs. This role is central to keeping deals moving — preparing client-facing presentations and proposals, conducting the market and account research that improves sales meetings, and performing preliminary underwriting and pricing analysis to support deal structuring. The Sales Associate is a highly organized, analytically capable partner to the Industry Sales Lead, handling the detailed preparation work that allows the Lead to focus on relationship-building and negotiation. This is a strong entry point into a career in institutional or vertical-market sales, with meaningful exposure to deal structuring, pricing, and executive-level presentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Presentation & Proposal Support
- Build client-facing presentations, proposals, and pitch materials for the Industry Sales Lead, translating deal specifics and vertical positioning into clear, polished decks.
- Prepare materials for client meetings, trade shows, and procurement events, ensuring content is accurate, current, and tailored to the audience.
- Support the Industry Sales Lead in developing RFP and RFI responses, coordinating inputs from Deal Desk, Operations, and Legal as needed.
- Maintain a library of reusable presentation content, case studies, and vertical-specific messaging to speed up proposal turnaround.
Analytical & Research Support
- Conduct account and market research to help the Industry Sales Lead identify, qualify, and prioritize target accounts within the vertical.
- Track competitive activity, procurement trends, and regulatory developments relevant to the assigned vertical.
- Compile and organize pipeline data, meeting notes, and account histories to keep opportunities well documented and easy to hand off or escalate.
Underwriting & Pricing Support
- Perform preliminary underwriting analysis on prospective deals — unit economics, delivery feasibility, and preliminary risk factors — in support of Deal Desk standards.
- Assist in assembling deal packet inputs for submission to the Deal Approval Committee, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Support pricing scenario analysis for custom, volume, or financing vs. leasing deal structures under the direction of the Industry Sales Lead and Deal Desk.
General Sales Support
- Manage day-to-day administrative aspects of the sales process, including CRM hygiene, scheduling, and follow-up tracking.
- Coordinate with Operations and Logistics to confirm delivery timelines and specifications referenced in proposals.
- Act as a responsive, detail-oriented partner to the Industry Sales Lead, anticipating what's needed to keep deals moving efficiently.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Presentation skills — able to build clear, professional, and persuasive decks and proposal materials, with strong attention to visual and narrative quality.
- Analytical skills — comfortable working with data to support market research, pipeline tracking, and pricing or underwriting analysis.
- Underwriting aptitude — able to learn and apply basic underwriting logic (unit economics, feasibility, risk flags) under guidance from Deal Desk standards.
- Organization & follow-through — highly reliable in managing multiple deals, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Communication — clear written and verbal communication, both for internal coordination and client-facing material.
- Resourcefulness — proactive in anticipating the Industry Sales Lead's needs and solving problems with minimal oversight.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 0–3 years of experience in sales support, analyst, business development, or related roles; internship experience in real estate, construction, hospitality, or institutional sales is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Canva) and comfort building materials from scratch.
- Solid Excel or spreadsheet skills, with the ability to learn basic underwriting and pricing models.
- Excellent written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) preferred but not required.
- Prior exposure to, or relationships within, the assigned vertical (government, workforce housing, hospitality, residential, or direct affordable home ownership programs) is not required but is a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree in real estate or business preferred.
- Interest in building a long-term career in institutional or vertical-market sales, with growth potential toward an Industry Sales Lead role.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Presentation and proposal materials that consistently meet a high bar for polish, clarity, and client relevance.
- Research and analysis that measurably sharpen the Industry Sales Lead's account prioritization and deal preparation, in support of the vertical's revenue targets.
- Deal packet inputs that are accurate and complete, minimizing rework at the Deal Desk and Deal Approval Committee stages.
- A trusted, dependable working relationship with the Industry Sales Lead that allows the Lead to focus on relationship-building and negotiation.
