ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The B&M Energy and Infrastructure (BMEI) superintendent opportunity is located in Salt Lake City, UT and typically reports directly to the Department Manager. Primary focus is providing superior leadership and management for the project(s) in accordance with policies and procedures adopted by the Company. The superintendent shall foster an environment of cooperation and support to enable employees to perform to their maximum potential.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Estimate, secure, and execute work as needed to support the profitable growth of the division
  • Monitor day-to-day operations of projects to ensure timely and accurate completion of work and reports with a focus on adherence to established systems and procedures
  • Ensure that safety policies are properly established, communicated, and implemented on each project
  • Provide levels of service quality on the project such that BMEI is regarded as substantially beyond all competition based both on internal and external measures
  • Coordinate and communicate with the Foreman and Project Managers
  • Support estimating as needed and execute work to support the profitable growth of the division
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with clients
  • Continuously identify and assess risks so as to minimize the exposure of the Company
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations
  • Readily accessible to people at all levels and to assist them by lending experience to their decision making
  • Promote and secure spin-off work and new business to leverage the existing infrastructure of Company
  • Mentor and develop high potential employees
  • Help resolve issues related to projects
  • Manage all local personnel issues
  • Attend business development, pre-bid, and construction meetings
  • Recruit quality Site Supervisors (Foremen) and craft employees.
  • Direct the activities of BMEI in a highly ethical and professional manner

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Degree or Diploma a plus and preferably in

  • Estimating
  • Project Management
  • Construction Engineering Technology
  • Construction Management
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • 10-Years of construction and superintendent experience
  • 4-Years of Experience Supervising Multiple Crews and Locations
  • Must possess Class A CDL Driver’s License with no restrictions or the ability to obtain within 90-days of employment
  • Extensive and broad experience in work involving energy and infrastructure construction aspects
  • Working knowledge of various drilling techniques including rock drilling, slurry methods, temporary and permanent casing, and vibratory methods
  • Ability, and willingness, to travel in order to obtain and manage customers and projects
  • Must be a demonstrated communicator and team player
  • Must possess the ability to support job estimates and quantity take-offs as required
  • Prefer proficient skills with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Bi-lingual communications ability a great plus, English/Spanish
  • Demonstrated Safety Performance Record

  • Support pursuit of new business opportunities with a focus on market segments where our services may be differentiated by expertise or specialization
  • Identify resource requirements to execute projects in accordance with the estimate
