Job Summary

The Business Excellence Engineer will be based in Salt Lake City, reporting to the Business Excellence Supervisor.

In this position, you will be continuously driving a culture of excellence in the organization and enabling waste removal activities using lean and six sigma approaches and tools and guiding actions to a sustainable conclusion.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Work as a change agent and drive lean activities as defined in the Kaizen road map
  • Supportive role in eliminating waste and creating value by reducing variation in the processes to achieve sustainable results throughout the organization and segment.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) techniques, initiate process improvements, cycle time reductions, cost reductions and other activities aimed at reducing/eliminating non-value-added activities in the process.
  • Drive and Yokoten the identified best practices based on the accord timelines.
  • Create and validate processes/standards based on standard work and BPs.
  • Conduct six sigma training and accelerate the proliferation of Lean Continuous Improvement culture throughout the organization by co-guiding and co-facilitating Lean Deployment.
  • Perform assessment of Continuous Improvement Maturity Tracker Operation/Supply chain/Office and drive initiatives to close gaps.
  • Coach and facilitate Lean Transformation activities through Kaizen workshops and Small Group Activities.
  • Perform Gemba walks to support lean manufacturing culture transformation in SLC.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

  • Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience
  • Engineering degree required (strong preference Industrial Engineering)
  • Teamwork participation to enable project improvement.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Lean methodology
  • Must be able to guide direct projects based on business initiatives and customer needs.
  • Knowledge of Flex Future Factory
