Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Stoneground Bakery - Salt Lake, UT 84104Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 SalaryThe Assistant Controller plays a key role in the day‑to‑day accounting and financial operations of the bakery. This role supports the month-end close, cost accounting, inventory control, financial analysis, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate has foundational accounting experience and a desire to grow into a leadership role in manufacturing finance. Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting Assist with month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, management reports, broker and other sales reports, and operational dashboards. Support external audits as needed. Cost Accounting & Inventory Analyze production yields, scrap/waste, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption. Partner with production supervisors to validate daily/weekly production reporting. Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle count programs. Operational & FP&A Support Provide daily/weekly reporting on key KPIs (throughput, efficiency, waste, labor costs, etc.). Participate in annual budgeting and ongoing reforecasting processes. Support margin analysis, pricing updates, and customer/product profitability studies. Assist with capital expenditure tracking and ROI evaluations. Compliance & Controls Ensure adherence to internal controls, GAAP compliance, and company accounting policies. Support food industry audits requiring financial documentation (e.g., SQF, BRC, or internal QA standards). Assist in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a production, manufacturing, or high‑volume food environment. Exposure to cost accounting or inventory management systems.
