Make a difference as a Instructional Support Coach

Under the supervision of the Support Services Manager, the Instructional Support Coach plays a crucial role in fostering an empowering environment for Education Staff. This position focuses on delivering individualized and group coaching aimed at enhancing the capabilities of educators to better meet the needs of children in the program. By employing proven strategies, the Instructional Support Coach will work to increase staff proficiency in supporting positive outcomes for families and children. Key responsibilities include providing targeted training on the CLASS assessment and assisting in the development and implementation of Positive Support plans.

This role not only enhances the skillsets of the education team but also directly contributes to the overall success and well-being of the children and families served by the organization.

To excel as an Instructional Support Coach at The Resource Connection of Amador & Calaveras Counties, Inc., candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, along with required coursework in child development and administration. A minimum of three years of teaching experience in early childhood programs is essential, along with CLASS reliability or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire. Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in early childhood education techniques, active supervision, and staff development. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for facilitating group discussions and presenting training effectively to various audiences.

Additionally, candidates should understand the developmental and behavioral stages of young children, be skilled in data analysis, and meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision. The role also requires the ability to operate a computer for extended periods, lift objects up to 30 pounds, and possess a valid California driver's license.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • 24 Units of Early Childhood Education/Child Development
  • 6 Units in Administration preferred
  • 3 Units in Adult Supervision
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in Early Childhood Programs
  • Minimum CLASS reliable or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Possess or ability to obtain Site Supervisor Permit or higher from the California Commission on Teacher's Credentialing within 30 days of hire
  • Demonstrated skills in a variety of Early Childhood Education techniques, active supervision techniques and staff development
  • Effectively express and exchange ideas both verbally and in written form with staff and families
  • Present training and behavior intervention strategies to varying audiences
  • Understanding of developmental and behavioral stages for young children
  • Create accurate reports and recommendations; carry out actions as needed
  • Knowledge of terminology used in regards to Early Childhood Education documentation and reports

  • Criminal background clearance as required by licensing agency and funders
  • Health Screening
  • proof of current negative TB test, immunizations required by Community Care Licensing (measles pertussis) and current influenza shot
  • Willingness to work irregular hours
  • attend night meetings and travel as required by the organization
  • Valid California driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance coverage
