Director of Donor Relations

JOB SUMMARY

The Donor Relations Director is responsible for effectively marketing West Texas Boys Ranch in San Angelo and West Texas. This includes advertising, marketing materials, promotional items, events, public speaking and grant writing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 2-5 years marketing or sales experience
• Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Graphic Design
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• The ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good project management skills
• Understanding of marketing principles
• Strong understanding of new technologies and how they can be applied to marketing
• Ability to manage a budget
• Good attention to detail
• Creative and innovative
• The ability to recruit/coordinate volunteers for the program and events
• Ensures that organizational goals are met or exceeded
• Team player attitude
• Communicate effectively with vendors and donors

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for all advertising in the media (local, regional, nationally)
• Managing the fundraising events
• Build relationships with event sponsors and donors
• Attend benefits put on for West Texas Boys Ranch
• The ordering of promotional materials (caps, pens, brochures)
• Public speaking with local organizations & clubs
• Maintain monthly and yearly donation reports.
• Grant writing
• Setup booths at local events (Business Expo)
• Responsible for direct mail campaigns, e-newsletters and online marketing
• Creative productions of marketing materials
• Ranch photos
• Additional duties as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position has exempt status and is structured around a five-day work week. Most duties may be performed during Monday-Friday but occasionally some flexible scheduling, after hours or weekends may be needed. Exempt employees are paid on a salary basis, are expected to fulfil job requirements regardless of time spent in excess of the 40-hour work week and are not entitled to additional/overtime pay.  Exempt employees may be granted compensatory time on a case by case basis.
