Foster Grandparents (FGP)/Senior Companion (SCP) Program Specialist

COG Requirements:

  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work Business Management OR
  • A related field and one year of relevant experience OR
  • Any equivalent combination or education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively oversee FGP and SCP
  • Foundational knowledge of Federal and State Government policies and procedures


Assists in the operation of the Senior Companion (SCP) and Foster Grandparent Programs (FGP), both of which are funded through federal grants from the Corporation for National Community Services (CNCS) and which fall under the umbrella of the Concho Valley Council of Governments (CVCOG). Recruit and train low-income persons aged 55 and above to provide in-home service to frail and elderly homebound citizens or to provide educational assistance to disadvantaged children in a school, day care, or other authorized settings.
