Job Summary:

The Corporate Safety Manager develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace and regulatory compliance. The Corporate Safety Manager plays an integral role in driving a positive Safety Culture throughout the business

                                                                                                    

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactively build and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization. 
  • Collaborate with management to create, update, communicate, and enforce safety policies and procedures across all departments
  • Ensure the company adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, and codes, including OSHA, EPA, DOT
  • Conduct employee training to educate workers and leaders on topics such as safety policy/compliance, proper use of PPE, and overall hazard awareness.
  • Perform regular market safety assessments to assess compliance and identify potential risks. 
  • Lead investigations into severe workplace accidents / injuries.  Prepare detailed reports and recommend preventative measures
  • Assist in emergency response efforts, including those involving workplace violence and facility security
  • Oversee hazard assessments and develop strategies to prevent and control environmental, health, and safety (EHS) risks. 
  • Advise corporate and market leadership on safety performance, recommend improvements, and provide expertise on safety-related issues. 
  • Ensure accurate OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met. 
  • Other related & projects as needed.

Job Qualifications: 

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety or other related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Safety Management role
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.

Skills

  • Able to provide guidance on OSHA, DOT and other relevant safety regulations
  • Able to help influence behavior and gain buy-in from all levels of the organization
  • Able to think through & develop processes that contribute to enhanced organizational efficiency.
  • Able to partner successfully with internal and external groups.
