JOB TITLE: Accounting Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Administration
REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Qualified candidates will assist senior Accounting personnel with the following tasks:
Â
- Handles AP Processes, to include research, coding, entry, and processing for accurate and timely disbursement to vendors.
- Research discrepancies, investigates charges/fees.
- Keeps detailed and organized documentation of records.
- Assist with the annual preparation and filing Federal 1099 reporting including obtaining vendor documentationÂ
- Create Accounts Receivable invoices
- Light physical duties such as lifting files and boxes
- Other duties as assigned by senior or administrative management.
Requirements
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three or more years of general accounting experience.Â
- Must have demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and use time efficiently.Â
- A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.Â
- Experience with Deltek Vision preferred.Â
- Excellent candidates should have a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.Â
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required
- Associate degree or relevant certification is a plus
- 3+ years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- General knowledge and understanding of accounting principles such as debits and credits and cash vs. accrual accounting
- Proficient in simple mathematical calculations and algebraic knowledge
- Familiarity with and ability to interpret simple financial documents
