Job DetailsJob Location: SA - SAN ANTONIO, TX 78247Strata Innovative Solutions is a leading electrical and controls systems integrator; we help our clients create a more efficient field and connected enterprise.  We are a customer-centric organization and passionately deliver solutions tailored to each clients’ distinct business objectives.  We are proud to have employees who embody our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Dedication & Sustainability   Purpose:              The Automation Technician III installs, configures and tests industrial automation hardware and software across various operations in the field and within processing facilities.   Essential Duties include the following: Performs routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting on automated systems to ensure optimal performance. Diagnoses and repairs faults in instruments, valves, and motor drives, minimizing downtime and maintaining production efficiency Installs, configures and tests industrial automation hardware and software across various operations in the field and processing facilities Conducts system upgrades to enhance functionality and efficiency. Optimizes existing automation processes through modifications in software programming or hardware adjustments Ensures all automation practices adhere to industry safety standards and regulations. Regularly inspects and calibrates safety systems to guarantee operational integrity Monitors system performance data to identify trends and inefficiencies. Prepares and submits detailed reports on system status, incidents, and maintenance activities Communicates with both technical colleagues and non-technical staff Ensures QA/QC and Customer Acceptance Testing is completed on all projects Works closely with other departments to deliver successful projects Manages support center and tracking of calls, issues, and resolutions during the project lifecycle Other duties as assigned Qualifications  Qualifications/Requirements: Associate’s Degree in Automation or I&E Technology or equivalent experience required 7+ years of field automation experience within industrial automation systems Must have extensive field experience with SCADA systems and software, understanding of network architecture, and intermediate proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for system analysis Advanced level understanding of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), EFMs (Electronic Flow knowledge of PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text) and experience with platforms like Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, ABB, etc. Extensive experience with calibration of field instrumentation (pressure, level, temperature, and flow), and working knowledge of actuation systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC) Demonstrated experience with instrumentation for measuring and controlling variables is required Demonstrated experience working with electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and the integration of automation systems within various mechanical and electrical components 7+ years experience with automation-related programming languages, such as Ladder Logic, Function Block, or Structured Text    Physical Requirements: Frequent use of hand tools, electronic equipment, and machinery is required. Precision and steadiness are essential for handling small components and performing delicate adjustments Must lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds Technicians may need to access various locations within a facility, including climbing ladders, navigating tight spaces, and working at heights or in confined areas   Work Environment: Team members will encounter a range of work environments, each tailored to the specific demands and nature of individual projects.  For outdoor projects, may be exposed to varying and extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow.   The above statements are intended to reflect the principal duties of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
