Your Opportunity

Stantec is now accepting resumes for Summer 2026 Civil Engineering and Survey interns within our Community Development Group in San Antonio, Texas. As an intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to community development projects that may include urban design and planning, roadways, park and recreation design, multi-use trail and pathway design, traffic engineering, landscape architecture, assessment and rehabilitation, infrastructure design, water and wastewater conveyance, and storm water management. Your Key Responsibilities
  • Use technical and communication abilities to complete the civil component of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic design team setting
  • Assist with preparation of plans and specifications, reports, and other project deliverables
  • Attend meetings on an as needed basis
  • Complete detailed reports as required
  • Procure permits and other approvals from various agencies
  • Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, and other project stakeholders
  • Assist with CAD drafting and design, and preparation of construction documents
  • Perform field surveys as a member of Stantec field crews, including control, topo, drainage, and utility surveys.
  • Performing maintenance of traffic and safety protocols
  • Process Field notes and field data 
  • Preparing Survey reports

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
