Job DetailsJob Location: Distribution Center - San Antonio, TX 78216 Reports to: DC Delivery Manager                       Department:  Retail Stores Admin                   Classification:  Non-Exempt                              Travel: SA & surrounding areas/no overnight                                                           JOB SUMMARY: The DC Delivery Driver is responsible for the daily delivery of orders to customers. Performing these duties in a productive, time sensitive and customer sensitive manner, they will also perform normal receiving tasks, unload delivery trucks, and assist with warehouse inventory functions and warehouse maintenance duties.   JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Delivers all ordered merchandise to customers in a timely and business- like manner Top priority should be given to taking care of our customers’ needs Communicate customer feedback to sales and /or supervisory personnel Handles customer complaints upon delivery of merchandise Conduct all business in a professional and courteous manner Loads/Unloads vendor delivery trucks; Sort freight, verify packages with manifest or pack list Perform per-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle being operated daily prior to leaving from and returning to warehouse.  Insures that vehicle inspections and registrations are current Operated the delivery vehicles in a safe and lawful manner.  Adheres to all driving regulations Keep the truck and equipment in a proper working order, report any problems to the supervisor, keep the cab and cargo area clean and free of clutter Properly secures all merchandise during loading and transporting Validates all deliveries with the customer.  Obtain POD (Proof of Delivery) for each delivery Pick up and accept merchandise returns and/or damages Handle all deliveries for the day and return all delivery paper work to the supervisor at the end of the day or shift Assists in warehouse and performs stocking, receiving tasks and the overall housekeeping of the warehouse Ensure the accuracy of all receiving documents, matching forms (PO, packing slips, computer printouts) relative to receiving activities Physically inspect the conditions of all merchandise being received Ensure the receiving counts match purchase order and packing slip documents Opens and closes the Distribution Center Assume and perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned. Demonstrate and embodies our values: Be Limitless, Be Resilient, Be People Centered, Be a Team, and Be Trustworthy  QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent required Maintain current driver license with good driving record Must be at least 18 years of age 1-3 years of delivery driver experience preferred Must be able to pass DOT certification   SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to use manual pallet jack to move pallets of products up to 2,500 pounds Knowledge of operation of power/mobile equipment Ability to navigate and read a map Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, using the English language Must have excellent customer services skills Knowledge of basic warehouse procedures including shipping, receiving   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift, push, pull or otherwise move up to 60 pounds Must be a TEAM player and able to work well with minimum supervision Must be able to report to workstation without assistance.     This job description does not imply these are the only duties to be performed.  The incumbent in this position will perform such other tasks as may be required for the effective operations of the Division/Department upon request by his/her supervisor.   Please note: Under the AbilityOne Program, Vibrant Works gives hiring preference to individuals who are legally blind.
