We are seeking a talented design professional to join our team and help create an exceptional experience for our customers. This opportunity is open to candidates with a range of design, sales, and leadership experience, and the final position level—Designer or Design Gallery Manager—will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capabilities. Designer Summary- The Designer works closely with clients in the showroom and creates an individualized design experience that will allow them to personalize their home to their specific tastes and lifestyles. The primary responsibility of a Design Consultant is to educate and provide professional advice to clients on the appearances and functionality of all interior finish products. Design Consultants must have the ability to guide clients through different selections based on style, quality, and price.
The ideal Design Consultant will have natural talent and a predisposition to design, along with an openness to being trained around skills that will ensure we exceed the expectations of our clients.
Design Gallery Manager Summary- As the Design Gallery manager, you will be combining your passion for creativity and business acumen along with organizational skills to lead a team of designers who will play a key role in curating, promoting, and managing interior finish out alongside our customers to ensure a professional design experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gallery Management:
- Exhibit curation: Select and arrange design works for display based on theme, style, and appeal. This includes organizing exhibitions and rotating artwork regularly.
- Space Design: Ensure the physical or virtual gallery is visually appealing and supports the artwork's context, whether it's a digital platform or a physical space.
- Art Installations: Oversee the physical installation of pieces, ensuring the gallery layout maximizes visual appeal and ease of navigation.
Client Relations:
- Client interaction: Act as the point of contact for designers, artists, and visitors. Handle client inquiries, sales discussions, or licensing agreements.
- Networking: Establish and maintain relationships within the construction industry
- Collaboration: Work with designers to promote their work through events, featured exhibitions, or special collaborations.
Marketing and Promotion:
- Social Media Strategy: Promote exhibitions and designers via social media, ensuring the gallery's online presence is consistent and engaging.
- Event Planning: Organize opening events to attract visitors and build the gallery’s reputation.
- Public Relations: Work on media outreach to ensure coverage of the gallery’s events
Sales and Business Management:
- Sales Management: Facilitate the sale of designs and handle pricing, invoicing, and inventory management.
- Budgeting: Oversee the gallery’s budget, ensuring profitability and efficient use of resources.
- Reporting: Track gallery performance, visitor feedback, and sales data to help inform future decisions.
Operations:
- Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of the gallery space, including digital infrastructure for virtual galleries or physical maintenance for brick-and-mortar venues.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage the artworks, including their sales, pricing, and location (in gallery, in transit, or in storage).
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all transactions and exhibitions comply with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and other relevant regulations.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Leadership & Management: Ability to lead a team of designers and support staff, ensuring effective operations.
- Art & Design Knowledge: Strong understanding of design principles and current interior design trends in the construction industry
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients, designers, and various internal operations
- Sales Acumen: Experience in selling, including negotiations, pricing strategies, and customer service.
- Project Management: Ability to handle multiple projects at once, ensuring deadlines are met and projects run smoothly.
- Tech Savvy: Knowledge of digital tools and platforms for both virtual galleries and in managing the gallery’s online presence (e.g., CMS systems, design software, eCommerce platforms).
EDUCATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Education: A degree in Interior Design, Fine Arts, or Business Management is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience working in a Design Gallery in residential construction is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting and moving up to 50lbs frequently
- Walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time
