General Office Clerk
Position Summary
The General Office Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the office. This position is responsible for performing basic accounting functions, maintaining accurate records, processing routine financial transactions, and providing general administrative support to the accounting and operations teams. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting – Accounts PayableÂ
- Performing basic office tasks, including opening, sorting and distributing mail, filing, scanning, copying, etc.Â
- Scanning and saving accounting paperwork.Â
- Assist with balancing WEX.Â
- Assist with balancing Chase credit card statements.Â
- Reviewing vendor statements for missing invoices.Â
- Assists management with ad-hoc requests, including special projects and initiatives.Â
- Other related duties as assigned.Â
Accounting – Accounts ReceivableÂ
- Receiving customer payments in Sage Intacct.Â
- Creating deposits in Sage Intacct.
- Process remote deposits by scanning customer payments through the bank's remote deposit system.
- Mailing monthly customer statements.Â
General Office – AccountingÂ
- Scanning and saving accounting documents to assist with paperless office environment.Â
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- One to three years of administrative, clerical, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in construction, service, or a related industry is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong data entry and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, and telephones.
