Description

The Hotel Maintenance Engineer person is responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel and grounds. They will manage general and preventative maintenance functions to ensure guest service and sustainability standards are achieved and maintained throughout the hotel structure. 

Requirements

  • The hotel Engineer General Maintenance person is responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel and ground
  • Respond to the needs of the guests relating to the maintenance and condition of the hotel, property and grounds
  • Inspect the hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards
  • Complete general repairs and upkeep of operational equipment
  • Oversee hotel building systems such as refrigeration, HVAC, electrical and plumbing
  • Ensure the safety and attractiveness of all hotel areas
  • Perform grounds work and landscaping as needed
  • Arrange for preventative and routine maintenance of hotel rooms, lobby and facilities
  • Organize repair projects in a manner that will not disturb guests
  • Find ways to reduce hotel operating costs and conserve energy
  • Maintain expenses and activity logs
  • Maintain and order supplies as needed
  • Approach all encounters with guests as well as employees in a professional and personalized manner throughout all areas of the hotel
  • Maintain regular attendance and timeliness in compliance with hotel standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Maintain a professional image and positive attitude at all times
  • Actively participate in daily briefings and meetings
  • Understand and execute hotel emergency procedures if an incident should occur
  • Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
  • Provide feedback throughout training process
  • Assist with any training that may be required to enhance job performance
  • Prolonged standing and moving about the hotel
  • Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
  • Frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling

Qualifications

  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to push and pull
  • Able to work alone as well as being a team member
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
