About Root Causes Medicine

Root Causes Medicine (RCM) is a membership-based functional and integrative medicine clinic in San Antonio, TX. We help our members identify and address the root causes of chronic illness through personalized care, advanced diagnostics, and evidence-based integrative protocols. Our clinic is a place of healing — and the environment our members walk into every day reflects our commitment to excellence, safety, and care.

About the Role

The Day Porter is responsible for maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental readiness across all clinical and common areas at RCM. This is not a background role — it is a critical part of the member experience and the safety of our clinical operations.

You will work closely with the front desk, clinical, and leadership teams to ensure every treatment room, modality suite, and shared space is consistently clean, stocked, and reset to standard. You will own a scheduled deep cleaning program in addition to daily duties, and you will be a trusted, visible presence in our clinic culture.

What You Will Do

Daily Room Care

  • Clean and reset all Colon Hydrotherapy (CHT) rooms before and after each client session per clinical protocol
  • Wipe down, sanitize, and restock all modality treatment rooms after each use (infrared sauna, IV therapy, red light, etc.)
  • Ensure all rooms are inspected and ready-to-use before clinic open each day
  • Restock consumable supplies (linens, gloves, paper, sanitizer) in all rooms as needed

Common Areas & Kitchen

  • Maintain daily cleanliness of the breakroom and kitchen: counters, appliances, sink, microwave, and refrigerator
  • Empty and reline trash receptacles throughout the clinic on a daily schedule
  • Keep front desk, waiting area, and hallways clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the day
  • Mop, sweep, and vacuum all floors on daily and scheduled cycles

Deep Cleaning Program

  • Execute a monthly deep cleaning schedule covering all clinical and non-clinical areas
  • Deep clean baseboards, vents, fixtures, behind equipment, and high-touch surfaces on rotation
  • Maintain a cleaning log documenting completed tasks, supplies used, and any issues flagged
  • Flag any maintenance issues, damage, or supply shortages to leadership promptly

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Prior experience in commercial, clinical, or hospitality cleaning preferred
  • Ability to follow written cleaning protocols and checklists with precision and consistency
  • Comfortable working in a clinical environment with medical equipment and biohazard-adjacent materials
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to read and follow safety data sheets (SDS) for cleaning chemicals
  • Physical ability to stand, lift (up to 30 lbs), bend, and move throughout the clinic for full shifts

Preferred

  • Experience cleaning in a healthcare, spa, or wellness clinic setting
  • Familiarity with infection control or sanitation standards (OSHA, CDC guidelines)
  • Strong ability to read, write and speak English; Bilingual (Spanish) a plus!

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience
  • Consistent full-time Monday–Friday schedule
  • A professional, respectful, mission-driven work environment
  • Opportunity to be part of a growing, purpose-built healthcare organization
  • Clinic wellness perks
