Description

 

  • With preliminary direction from a licensed landscape architect, participate in pre-design and all design phases of landscape projects, including mixed-use, civic parks, community master plans, streetscapes, campuses, and commercial plazas;
  • participate in site inventory and analysis phases for projects of various scales, including photography, base drawing development, and site diagrams;
  • analyze client goals and needs, and develop narrative summaries, analysis diagrams, and functional use diagrams;
  • conduct precedent studies and incorporate findings into design concepts;
  • research and comply with ADA, international building codes, and local landscape regulations;
  • develop site analysis studies requiring field observation, photography, and data collection;
  • assist in identifying opportunities and constraints through mapping, circulation studies, and environmental assessment;
  • develop site design alternatives requiring plans, sections, 3D models, and massing studies;
  • prepare client and public presentations, workshops, and meetings using BIM and 3D modeling tools, including Revit, Rhino, Forma, SketchUp, and Grasshopper;
  • analyze sketches, notes, and conceptual input to generate technical design solutions;
  • use judgment to determine effective presentation methods, including 3D modeling, renderings, photo montages, and Affinity Designer diagrams;
  • coordinate conceptual, schematic, and design development drawings with architectural, civil, structural, lighting, and graphics consultants;
  • provide ongoing support for sustainable design initiatives and integration of environmental analysis processes into collaborative workflows;
  • develop documents for all design phases, from schematic design through construction documentation, including plans, sections, and details in compliance with jurisdictional standards;
  • coordinate consultant models and documentation within the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) platform;
  • utilize BIM workflows for modeling, visualization, and documentation;
  • assist in developing landscape specifications based on CSI standards;
  • conduct material and product research for hardscape and landscape components;
  • produce site grading design and documentation for all phases of a project;
  • apply landscape and civil principles to ensure proper drainage, accessibility, and integration of stormwater systems;
  • coordinate grading documentation with civil engineers and incorporate technical feedback into the BIM model;
  • guide team members in BIM workflows, sheet setup, and detail documentation;
  • make corrections to design development and construction document sets per Design Director feedback;
  • ensure compliance with stormwater management and erosion control requirements through collaborative coordination with consultants;
  • conduct site visits, field observations, and progress review meetings;
  • process general contractor RFIs, submittals, and change order requests;
  • review shop drawings, samples, mockups, and material cut sheets for compliance with design intent;
  • manage project budgets, contracts, and fee proposals in coordination with supervisors;
  • oversee consultant coordination and agreements to ensure project scope alignment;
  • conduct final inspections, prepare punch lists, and record drawings;
  • organize, file, and distribute project documents utilizing ACC;
  • attend city review meetings with supervisors to track design changes and coordinate submissions;
  • implement company standards across project deliverables and ensure quality control throughout the design and documentation process;
  • support firm-wide sustainability initiatives and ensure project integration with performance goals.
