Nursing Director - Labor and Delivery

Job Title: NursingDirector - LaborandDelivery

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Duration : Full time permanent

The Nursing Director oversees the 24/7 operations of the Labor & Delivery department, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient resource management, regulatory compliance, staff leadership, and achievement of organizational goals.

·        Lead daily department operations and strategic planning.

·        Manage operating and capital budgets.

·        Recruit, develop, evaluate, and retain nursing staff.

·        Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards.

·        Drive performance improvement, patient safety, and customer satisfaction initiatives.

·        Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

·        Monitor department performance using data and analytics.

·        Optimize workflows, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.

·        Foster a positive work environment and support staff development.

·        Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)

·        Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) License

·        5+ years of Labor & Delivery or related clinical experience

·        Active BLS certification (AHA required within 60 days of hire)

·        Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or related field

·        3-5 years of progressive leadership/management experience

·        Nursing specialty or healthcare administration certification
