Job Description: 

The Quality Inspector ensures that generator enclosures, paint inspections, electrical installations, and incoming materials meet company standards and specifications. This role is critical in maintaining quality and safety in the production process, conducting thorough inspections, and maintaining accurate records to support continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections of generator enclosures, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct electrical inspections to verify installation and operational requirements.
  • Perform incoming inspections of parts and materials to verify adherence to specifications and quality requirements.
  • Accurately document inspection results, including any non-conformities, using company forms and systems.
  • Maintain organized records of inspections, non-conformities, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit inspection reports to the Quality Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and purchasing teams to address quality concerns.
  • Communicate inspection findings and assist in resolving quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with audits as needed.
  • Support filing and maintenance of quality documents, including inspection records and certifications.



Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, multimeters).
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and ability to read schematics is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, such as ISO 9001, is a plus.
  • Physical ability to inspect products, including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment.
  • Exposure to noise, insulation, dust, and temperature variations in the shop area.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required during inspections.
