The aide will play a crucial role in facilitating patient care and maintaining the smooth operation of therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities: - Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans and therapeutic activities. - Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and work areas to ensure a clean and safe environment. - Support patients during therapy sessions, providing encouragement and guidance as needed. - Document patient progress and report observations to the occupational therapist. - Coordinate with healthcare staff to schedule therapy sessions and manage patient flow. - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare regulations and protocols. - Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care strategies. - Assist in administrative tasks related to therapy services, including record-keeping and inventory management. QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Completion of a certified Occupational Therapy Aide program is preferred. Required Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in occupational therapy. - Experience in assisting occupational therapists with patient care and administrative tasks. - Familiarity with medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures. Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. - Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists. - Proficient in basic computer skills, including data entry and use of electronic health records. - Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. - Compassionate and patient-focused approach with a commitment to providing high-quality care. - Physical ability to assist patients with mobility and perform tasks that require physical exertion.
