Job DetailsJob Location: Corporate Office/Warehouse - San Antonio, TX 78218Position Summary: Procures materials or other goods an/or coordinates activities involved with purchasing products and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising., for establishment. Receives and review requisitions requesting goods or services. Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Expedites orders and requests as needed. Responsibilities: Estimates vales according to knowledge of market price. Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid. Prepare purchase orders or bid requests. Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, uses, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. Keeps abreast of market trends, changes in business practices in the assigned markets, new or altered types of materials entering the market, etc. May work with manufacturers or persuade potential vendors to undertake the manufacturing of custom-designed items according to user’s specific needs and specifications. May approve invoices for payment. May expedite delivery of goods to users. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field. Five years of procurement or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of ERP systems with emphasis on order management, purchasing, and MRP. Experience with SAP ByDesign is highly desired. Vendor management background. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills. APICS Certification is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to analyze sales, production, and inventory data for effective decision-making. Experience sourcing raw materials and finished goods domestically and internationally. Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage vendor relationships. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present information effectively. Organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Understanding of manufacturing lifecycles, capacity planning, and supply chain interdependencies. Experience with ERP software; SAP ByDesign highly desired. Physical Conditions: This role works in standard office conditions but may require movement throughout the building to collaborate with other departments.
