REQUIREMENTS:

 

Experience as a manager in an Industrial Refrigeration Environment.

Experience with Natural and Conventional Refrigerants including Anhydrous Ammonia.

Experience with Process Safety Management Programs

Experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment.

Experience with Boilers, Air Compressors, Water System, R/O Systems, Water Softeners.

Experience with Pumps, Water Treatment, DA Tanks and other Utility Equipment

Experience with Operating and Maintaining Spiral Freezers.

Must have Ammonia Certification from RETA (CARO, CIRO, CRES, CRST, RAI) (Not all are required)

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Senior Refrigeration Manager must have extensive knowledge operating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical refrigeration systems, boiler, hot water, domestic cold water, and compressed air systems. Basic knowledge of General Maintenance and Electrical and Electronic Systems including PLC's is also required. Travel up to 50% of the time may be required. The associate must be able to work in a team environment and individually with little or no supervision. Must comply with all Company SAFETY Policy's (LOCKOUT/TAGOUT, ETC), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and all Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations.

 

Must be able to oversee managers, assistant managers and operators while operating, testing, troubleshooting and performing repairs to the refrigeration system, its sub-systems, and all auxiliary processes and/or equipment related to the operation of the refrigeration system.

Works with Vendors and Contractors so ensure that all refrigerated facilities are operating at optimum performance levels.

Monitors the planned maintenance on all ammonia refrigeration and utility systems utilizing CMMS and recommend/perform updates to the system based on demand.

Maintains the material integrity of the Refrigeration and Utility rooms in accordance with established best practices.

Complete all applicable documentation as required and directed by the Director of Refrigeration and Utilities

Works with other department managers including but not limited to: PSM, Safety, Operations, Quality Assurance and Corporate Officers as required to obtain operational excellence.

Make recommendations on automation of refrigeration systems where necessary maintaining compliance with all Federal Standards.

Makes recommendations for Capital Improvement Projects that will improve efficiency or make necessary improvements to the refrigeration systems at the various locations.

Adheres to and Promotes all Company policies including but not limited to safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).

Verifies Daily rounds and inspections of Temperatures and Condition of Ammonia System.

This role requires up to 40% travel between plants in Virginia and Texas.

Any other duties assigned by the Director of Ammonia Refrigeration and Utilities
