Description

Due to Satterfield & Pontikes' continued growth and expansion, we are adding an experienced Superintendent to our San Antonio team. We have multiple ongoing projects throughout the greater San Antonio area and a substantial backlog of upcoming projects ranging from $25 million to $300 million. In this role, you will lead field operations, manage project execution, oversee subcontractor performance, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background leading large-scale commercial construction projects and a proven ability to drive successful project outcomes.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain safety standards through effective planning, execution, monitoring, and documentation
  • Manage project planning activities, including development and execution of pre-job plans
  • Determine construction methods and sequencing to support successful project delivery
  • Develop and maintain project Site Utilization Plans
  • Manage CPM baseline schedules, monthly schedule updates, narratives, and schedule modifications related to changes and delays
  • Review equipment requirements and coordinate needs with the Project Manager
  • Review monthly subcontractor pay applications to verify progress aligns with completed work
  • Coordinate, expedite, and manage subcontractors and vendors to maintain project schedules
  • Identify and resolve construction issues proactively while minimizing impacts on project performance
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and cost tracking records
  • Review weekly labor reports and monthly job cost reports to identify concerns and implement corrective actions
  • Manage and enforce the project Quality Control Program
  • Ensure compliance with all jobsite reporting requirements, including daily reports, SOS documentation, weekly unit reports, two-week look-ahead schedules, and monthly schedule updates
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
  • Mitigate subcontractor change orders and back-charges that may impact project profitability and ensure proper documentation is maintained
  • Lead project closeout activities in accordance with contract documents and company standards
  • Coordinate effectively with Project Managers, clients, inspectors, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
  • Mentor and develop field personnel while promoting operational excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent on projects valued at $25 million or greater
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices, scheduling, safety, and quality control
  • Experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
  • Experience with CPM scheduling and project planning
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Strong understanding of project cost control and productivity management
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction
