Job Description


The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial laundry equipment and facility systems. This position performs preventive and predictive maintenance to keep production equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably while minimizing downtime.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial laundry equipment, production machinery, and facility support systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on washers, dryers, ironers, presses, folders, conveyors, and other laundry production equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems and controls.
  • Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical motors, motor controls, sensors, switches, and related components.
  • Perform general mechanical repairs, including bearings, belts, chains, pulleys, pumps, valves, and other equipment components.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain industrial control systems, instrumentation, and automated equipment.
  • Inspect, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot steam, boiler, heating, cooling, and water treatment systems.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and identify the cause of equipment failures.
  • Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance to identify potential problems before equipment failure occurs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
  • Identify required parts, materials, tools, and equipment and communicate needs to the Head of Maintenance.
  • Work closely with production personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: 40 hours per week; 2nd shift position available. 2pm-12:30am, four day work week with rotating schedule

Compensation: Pay based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Requirements

Job Requirments

  • Previous industrial maintenance or equipment maintenance experience preferred.
  • Previous industrial laundry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics at a basic level.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, safety instructions, and written documentation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance/production team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Ability to safely work around industrial machinery, electrical systems, steam, heat, chemicals, water, noise, and other industrial hazards.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, twist, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and other access points throughout the facility.
  • Ability to work in small or restricted areas, including permit-required confined spaces, when properly trained and authorized.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and exert up to 20 pounds of force continuously throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy industrial laundry environment, including areas that may reach 90°F or higher.
  • Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, and other protective equipment as required.
  • Must be available to work the assigned shift and overtime, weekends, holidays, or additional hours as operational needs require.
  • Successful completion of a background check and regulated drug screen, in accordance with applicable laws.
