LeafSpring School is seeking a dependable and caring Cook to prepare nutritious, appealing meals and snacks for our students. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to food safety, and comfortable working in a busy childcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks.
- Follow established menus, recipes, portion sizes, and dietary guidelines.
- Accommodate documented food allergies and special dietary needs.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen.
- Follow food-safety, storage, labeling, and temperature-control procedures.
- Order supplies, monitor inventory, and reduce food waste.
- Clean dishes, utensils, equipment, and food-preparation areas.
- Coordinate with school staff regarding meal schedules and student needs.
- Maintain required meal, temperature, inventory, and sanitation records.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking or food-service experience; school or childcare experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergy prevention.
- Ability to follow menus and prepare meals for groups.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20lbs.Â
- Current food-handler certification, or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
No nights or weekends
Working Hours are 7:00am - 2:00pm M - F
