Job Summary

The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transportation of electrical materials, tools, equipment, and project-related supplies between company facilities, vendors, warehouses, and active job sites. This role supports field and warehouse operations by ensuring materials are delivered efficiently, documentation is completed accurately, and deliveries are coordinated to meet project schedules and operational demands.

The Delivery Driver represents the company professionally while maintaining compliance with all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and customer site requirements.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Safely operate company vehicles to transport electrical materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites, warehouses, vendors, and branch locations

·       Load, unload, secure, and verify materials to ensure accurate and damage-free deliveries

·       Coordinate delivery schedules with warehouse personnel, project teams, field leadership, and vendors to support project timelines

·       Review packing slips, purchase orders, delivery tickets, and shipping documents for accuracy

·       Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns promptly

·       Maintain organized delivery records, logs, receipts, and proof-of-delivery documentation

·       Assist with warehouse support activities including staging, material organization, inventory handling, and jobsite pickup requests as needed

·       Follow all company safety policies, DOT requirements, jobsite rules, and PPE standards

·       Maintain professional communication and customer service with employees, vendors, suppliers, and customers

·       Support emergency or priority delivery requests based on operational needs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·       Knowledge of safe driving practices and material handling procedures

·       Ability to safely operate pickup trucks, flatbeds, box trucks, trailers, or other company vehicles

·       Basic understanding of warehouse, construction, or electrical materials preferred

·       Ability to read delivery schedules, packing slips, maps, and shipping documentation

·       Strong organizational and time management skills

·       Ability to work independently while managing multiple delivery priorities

·       Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

·       Effective communication and customer service skills

·       Ability to adapt to changing schedules, jobsite conditions, and operational demands

Supervisory Responsibilities

·       This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities

·       May provide operational support and coordination with warehouse personnel, field employees, and project teams during material deliveries and pickups

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Position Type and Expected Work Time

Work Environment

·       Work is performed in warehouse environments, company yards, vendor locations, and active commercial, industrial, and construction job sites

·       Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, vehicle traffic, construction activity, dust, noise, and changing environmental conditions

·       May require compliance with customer site safety requirements including PPE usage and restricted access procedures

Physical Requirements

·       Ability to sit, drive, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the workday

·       Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more with assistance

·       Ability to load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and storage areas

·       Ability to safely enter and exit vehicles multiple times throughout the day

·       Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, straps, and other material handling equipment Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility apparel as required

Position Type:

•     Full-time, non-exempt

Typical Schedule / Shift Details:

·       Typically Monday through Friday with start times based on warehouse operations and project delivery schedules

·       Occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime may be required to support operational demands, emergency deliveries, or project schedules

·       Travel between company locations, vendor facilities, and jobsites is required

Overtime Expectations:

·       This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state laws

·       Overtime hours may be required based on delivery schedules, project deadlines, operational demands, or emergency support needs

Required Education and Experience

Education:

·       High school diploma or GED required

Certifications/Licenses

·       Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required

·       DOT medical card may be required based on vehicle type and operational needs

·       Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain after hire

Experience Requirements:

·       1–3 years of delivery driving, warehouse, logistics, construction, or material handling experience preferred

·       Experience working in construction, industrial, electrical, or contractor environments preferred

·       Experience operating delivery vehicles, trailers, or flatbeds preferred

Equipment or Machines Routinely Used in This Position

·       Pickup trucks, flatbed trucks, box trucks, and trailers

·       Forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks

·       GPS systems, mobile phones, and delivery tracking applications

·       Warehouse inventory or material tracking systems

·       Standard office and communication equipment

·       Personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vest, and safety footwear
