We are looking for team members who are ready to be empowered to go above and beyond.     JOB SUMMARY The Cocktail Server is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by providing timely, accurate beverage and light food service in a bar, lounge, library, and terrace setting. This role requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming, upscale guest experience.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS Operational Responsibilities Greet guests promptly and professionally, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere Take and accurately input beverage and food orders into the POS system Serve cocktails, wine, beer, and menu items efficiently and according to service standards Ensure all orders are rung in before being prepared or delivered Maintain full knowledge of cocktail menus, spirits, wine, and daily specials Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and anticipate additional needs Process payments accurately and handle cash/credit transactions responsibly Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, tables, and stations Follow all alcohol service guidelines, including verifying IDs and monitoring guest consumption Communicate effectively with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure timely service Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned   Guest Services Maintain knowledge of hotel services and amenities to assist guests with inquiries. Provide personalized service by engaging with guests, learning their preferences, and making recommendations. Greet guests promptly, take accurate orders, and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages. Always maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor to enhance the guest experience. Ensure bar seating tables are clean, properly set, and ready for service at all times. Team Support and Training Attend in monthly Food and Beverage Meetings. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on menu items, service standards, and company policies. Communication and Reporting Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service. Report any incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately to management. Safety & Compliance Comply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Wear required non-slip footwear to prevent slips and falls. Comply with local and state laws regarding alcohol service, including verifying guest identification when necessary. BASICS Warmly welcoming and creating a refined, inviting bar atmosphere Display courteous behavior with guests and team members Following all opening, shift, and closing procedures Maintain a polish and well-organized work areas Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor Must be familiar with cash handling procedures to include proper discounting, Tabit system, bank procedures and tip policies Tip out policy is 5% of alcohol sales to the bartenders Assist with side work and opening and closing setup Must be able to complete a checklist every shift. Weekly rehearsals to upkeep standards will be administered and utilized. Physical Requirements Sitting: Not applicable Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift. Lifting/Carrying: Ability to lift and carry trays, glassware, and supplies (up to 50 lbs if applicable) Other Physical Requirements: Frequent bending, reaching, and light lifting required. Working Environment                 Interior: Fast-paced bar, lounge, restaurant, terrace, and library setting Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required High guest interaction in a hospitality-driven environment                   Exterior: Comfortable working outdoors if needed.   QualificationsCANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Communicate effectively with others Works productively with a team Effective multitasking skills Composure and patience under pressure Serving experience preferred ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Strong verbal and written communication skills Handling difficult customers or complaints with professionalism. Multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment Effective time management and problem-solving skills Ability to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detail Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities Serve food, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages to hotel guests and visitors in accordance with standard recipes and hotel guidelines.  Follows guidelines established with regards to age identification for suspected minors and when dealing with an intoxicated customer  High school or equivalent education required.
