Description

Employment Status: Part-time (20-25 hours per week)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Reports to: Pastor and Parish Operations Manager


Summary:

As the Maintenance Technician for Assumption Seminary, you’ll provide general maintenance and basic repairs for various Assumption Seminary locations in a professional manner that assures safety, efficiency, and procedures.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Inspect all buildings and facilities and initiate repairs.
  • Perform maintenance in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and others. For more complex issues, management must be notified.
  • Complete work orders and process them.
  • Responds to after-hours emergency calls as needed.
  • Work cooperatively with staff to schedule and complete repairs.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
  • Perform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper working conditions.
  • Move furniture and office equipment as requested.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of materials, parts, supplies, tools and equipment.
  • Complete special projects as directed by management.
  • Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in maintenance related work.
  • License and Credentials
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver license

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have working knowledge of general maintenance tools.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
