Job DetailsJob Location: Roosevelt (Corporate Offices) - San Antonio, TX 78210JOB SUMMARY: To move materials, supplies, and finished goods by hand or with aid of equipment to designated places in the facility.  Assist Department Supervisor in daily operations.   JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility of the material handler is to assure that production never stops due to lack of material or support to the workstation.  The material handler must anticipate the needs prior to the workstation running out of material. Ability to use tools to facilitate the opening of boxes, crates and other packaging materials and store materials. Check for correct part numbers on materials. Arrange parts in boxes.  Receive supplies from warehouse personnel and verify part numbers and quantities against work order pick list.  Distribute supplies to needed employees or areas. Prepare shippers. Move packaged material from the last stage of production or packaging to the warehouse for storage or shipping. Report production count to employees. Assist other production employees when necessary. Assist in minor product or equipment repairs. Perform adjustments to machines as needed. Sweep floors of designated area and clean up all waste. Sort and count materials during inventory. Assume additional responsibilities; perform additional duties and complete special projects as assigned. QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in manufacturing preferred.   SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors. Ability to use a dolly, box cutter, tape gun, stencil brush, and pedal stapler. Must be able to conduct repetitive motions on a daily basis.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to walk, stoop down, reach arms over shoulders, climb ladders, and pull.
