Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The UM Data Entry Coordinator supports the Utilization Management (UM) function by accurately entering, verifying, and processing authorization requests in accordance with established policies, regulatory requirements, and service level expectations. This role performs non-clinical administrative tasks essential to the prior authorization process and ensures data integrity, timeliness, and compliance with HIPAA and applicable California healthcare regulations.

MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Education/Training

Minimum: 聽High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred: Coursework or training in medical terminology or healthcare administration.


Experience聽

Minimum: Administrative or data entry experience.

Preferred: Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Any combination of educational and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration of this position.

路 Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail聽

路 Ability to manage high-volume workload while meeting productivity benchmarks聽

路 Working knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)聽

路 Basic understanding of healthcare insurance and authorization processes聽

路 Effective written and verbal communication skills聽

路 Customer service orientation with ability to interact professionally with providers and staff聽

路 Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks聽

路 Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion聽

路 Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ability to learn new systems聽

路 Typing speed of 45+ WPM preferred聽

路 Ability to follow standardized procedures and apply sound judgment
