Job Title: Client Service Representative (CSR)

Location: VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center – San Diego, CA

VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center is a fast-paced, 24-hour emergency and specialty referral hospital located in beautiful San Diego, California. We recently opened our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility and are expanding our team! We are currently seeking a Client Service Representative (CSR) to be the welcoming face and voice of our hospital.

As a CSR, you will play a critical role in providing outstanding service to our clients while supporting our medical team in delivering exceptional care to their pets. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, thrives in a busy environment, and has a passion for helping people and animals.

Schedule : Full-time 4/10 hour shifts

Compensation: $ 20 - $ 25/hour

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Greeting clients and checking in emergency and specialty patients with warmth and efficiency

• Answering high-volume phones, directing calls, and taking detailed messages for doctors and staff

• Scheduling appointments and managing multi-department calendars

• Accurately entering client and patient information into the hospital information system

• Explaining hospital policies, estimates, and services to clients

• Processing invoices, collecting payments, and managing financial transactions

• Assisting with client communications during emergency situations

• Providing support and empathy during end-of-life care discussions and client grief

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a veterinary, medical, or high-volume environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy and professionalism

• Proficient in computers and multi-line phone systems

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a 24/7 hospital team

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
