As part of our growing team, Aston Martin San Diego is seeking a Used Vehicle Technician to inspect, diagnose, service, and recondition pre-owned vehicles for retail sale. This is a developmental position that offers a pathway to becoming a fully qualified Aston Martin Technician.
The Used Vehicle Technician's primary responsibility will be completing used-vehicle inspections and repairs efficiently and to dealership quality and safety standards. Once daily used-vehicle responsibilities are complete, the technician will receive opportunities to develop Aston Martin-specific skills through online learning, local factory training, hands-on experience, and assisting the dealership’s existing technicians.
Schedule: Full-time, Mon-Fri, with an occasional Saturday when the workload demands it.Â
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Operating dealership-owned and customer-owned vehicles safely.
- Providing accurate and trustworthy diagnoses and repairs to maintain customer trust.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Using and maintaining expensive tools and equipment.
- Inspects and tests drive newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage and missing major components and drivability functionsÂ
- Keeps the shop area neat and clean.
- Maintains and holds accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
- Handling hazardous materials, such as motor oil, coolant, and cleaning agents, in compliance with safety regulations.
- Accessing restricted or secure areas of the dealership.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Automotive Technician Experience Preferred.
- Must have own tools
- High school diploma and two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 3+ Year of Automotive Technician Experience Preferred.
- Customer satisfaction driven and energetic team player.Â
- Problem solving by analyzing and interpreting data.
- Mechanical, technical, and troubleshooting.
- Manual dexterity
- Master technician skills a plus
