This role sits at the intersection of business process, AI, and enterprise engineering, translating Finance, Sales, and broader SG&A needs into intelligent, governed, production-grade solutions on BizAI - Qualcomm's Unified Business AI platform. You will pair deep technical skill with strong functional fluency, partnering directly with business stakeholders to turn process pain points into agentic applications, natural-language analytics, and automated workflows - all on governed enterprise data (Databricks, Oracle, EDH) and within Qualcomm's security and governance boundaries.

This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical-functional bridge between business stakeholders (Finance, Sales, SCM) and the AI engineering team — eliciting requirements, shaping use cases, and translating them into deliverable solutions on the BizAI platform.

  • Design and deliver AI-driven agents, natural-language Q&A experiences, and agentic automations for enterprise processes such as Manual Journal Entry, Incentive Claims validation, Variance Analysis, and Customer 360.

  • Build and extend workflow automations using n8n (on-prem Kubernetes), integrating with Oracle, Databricks, Salesforce, M365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint), Jira, and PostgreSQL.

  • Develop and integrate against the FastAPI and micro-frontend SDK, ensuring consistent, reusable, enterprise-grade experiences.

  • Configure and tune Databricks Genie / QGenie-powered natural-language querying over governed datasets, validating accuracy and business relevance with stakeholders.

  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise governance, SOX, auditability, SSO/RBAC (OIDC), and data-level security (RLS/N2K) requirements.

  • Define and apply automation and agent standards for scalability, reliability, and compliance across the enterprise.

  • Support adoption through office hours, enablement, and hands-on guidance — helping business teams self-serve while raising the engineering bar.

  • Collaborate on process optimization and process-mining opportunities to prioritize the highest-value automation and AI use cases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • 9+ years of experience in software/automation engineering, solutions engineering, or technical-functional roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business/functional requirements into technical solutions, ideally in Finance or Sales domains.

  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI / AI agent development and natural-language analytics.

  • Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript (Rust a plus); experience with full-stack, enterprise-grade application development.

  • Hands-on experience with agentic runtimes and workflow frameworks such as n8n, LangGraph, or Agno.

  • Experience building against API services (e.g., FastAPI) and integrating with data platforms (Databricks, Oracle, SQL/NoSQL).

  • Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.

  • Solid understanding of enterprise systems, authentication mechanisms (SSO/OIDC), role-based access, and security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Functional domain knowledge in Finance, Sales, Supply chain processes.

  • Experience with natural-language-to-SQL / Genie-style querying over governed datasets.

  • Background in business process optimization and process mining.

  • Experience integrating and extending RPA platforms (e.g., Automation Anywhere, UiPath) into agentic frameworks.

  • Prior experience in a matrixed, global organization with distributed teams.

  • Knowledge of workflow orchestration, event-driven architectures, and microservices/micro-frontends.

  • Exposure to AI platform engineering and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers.
