Position Summary The Donor Engagement Coordinator (DEC) is a member of the Development & Community Engagement (DCE) team and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while coordinating administrative processes that support the organization’s donor engagement strategy. Working closely with the Director of Events & Donor Engagement (DEDE), the DEC helps implement communication and cultivation strategies that strengthen relationships and increase donor and partner engagement. This position plays a key role in growing and stewarding the Mission’s donor base through consistent communication, strategic cultivation efforts, and management of the mid-level donor program. The DEC will also support the development of the Mission’s volunteer-to-donor pipeline and assist with donor and volunteer events that deepen engagement, strengthen relationships, and connect supporters more closely to the life-changing work of the Rescue Mission.       Key Responsibilities Coordinate and execute donor communications using the Mission’s CRM and engagement tools to ensure timely, strategic, and high-quality interactions while serving as a knowledgeable ambassador for the Rescue Mission’s programs and services. Manage and cultivate a caseload of mid-level donors through personalized stewardship, excellent customer service, and strategic engagement designed to increase donor retention, grow giving, achieve annual revenue goals, and advance donors to major-gift levels. Leverage CRM data and donor analytics to maintain accurate donor records, identify qualified prospects, track engagement activities, support portfolio management, and inform donor cultivation strategies. Support the planning and execution of donor engagement events that deepen relationships, increase donor involvement, and connect supporters to the Mission’s impact through meaningful experiences, volunteer opportunities, and special events. Other Related Duties: Support and participate in ministry-wide activities and chapels as applicable. Collaborate cross-functionally to uphold trauma-informed practices and ensure client dignity. QualificationsQualifications Education: Preferred: Associate's or bachelor’s degree in administration, Nonprofit Management, or 2 years+ of related experience. Experience: 2–4 years administrative experience; nonprofit or development support preferred. Skills & Abilities: Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, faith-based environment Strong builder, organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, Content Creation Tools, and CRM systems (e.g., Canva, Virtuous) Discreet, professional, and attentive to detail—especially with donor data Friendly, proactive, and mission-driven with a customer service mindset Able to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment Work Environment and Physical Demands This role may require walking, standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working irregular hours, including evenings or weekends. Environment includes residential program sites and client-facing spaces. Travel/Transportation The incumbent must travel on a regular (or periodic) basis, as the job requires. The incumbent must have reliable transportation (public transportation may be acceptable depending on the purpose of travel). If the incumbent receives authorization to use a Mission vehicle to perform duties, he or she must present a current California driver’s license and a good driving record to be placed on the Mission’s insurance policy.
