Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$42.790 - $55.210 - $61.840


 

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices. 


 


What You Will Do
To enhance the operation of Operating Facility and the finance department by assisting the Chief Financial Officer in the preparation of the annual operating budget and the analysis of financial performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance or related business field, or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Prior microcomputer financial applications.
  • Experience in the use of PC software applications, including Excel and Word.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 Years accounting or Finance experience in a healthcare environment.


Essential Functions

  • Budget development and adherence
    Assists in the preparation and consolidation of department operating and capital budgets according to the budget calendar. Assists in development and presentation of education for hospital staff to assist them in developing and maintaining department budgets. Proficiency on software applications required for budget development.
  • Customer service
    Investigates and researches issues or questions brought to Finance's attention by management regarding their departments. Maintains active relationships with customers by periodically assessing needs and levels of satisfaction with service. Provides financial approval for invoices, check requests, and expense reports with 1-3 days of receipt and adheres to appropriate policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Report preparation
    Prepares various financial, statistical and operational reports, including analysis productivity analysis, statistical and service line. Uses information for department/hospital financial performance.
  • Special projects
    Assists Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer on special projects or duties as assigned, including analysis of financial data by department, service line, and procedure, ad hoc analyses, fiscal education for management, and developing and revising policies and procedures.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Math skills to solve and analyze accounting and financial problems, calculate percentages, per unit values, variances, and percentage increases and decreases.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff as well as with external agencies.
  • Ability to handle confidential details while exercising good judgment and discretion.
  • Good interpersonal skills and telephone interactions.
  • Personal initiative as exhibited by utilizing time between routine workloads, assisting co-workers with varying tasks, and asking supervisor for additional tasks. Knowledge of healthcare finance, terminology, and statistical reporting.
  • Knowledge of information systems as it related to accounting systems.
