Redwood Strategy Group is seeking a Financial Analyst II professionals to provide execution-level financial management support to COMNAVSURFPAC.

This role supports day-to-day Navy financial operations through transaction-level analysis, reconciliation, and validation activities within Navy accounting systems. The Financial Analyst II assists in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance with Department of Defense financial regulations, and audit readiness through structured reporting and reconciliation processes.

This position is focused on detailed financial execution and recurring monthly validation activities. ACTIVE CLEARANCE REQUIRED

 

Key Responsibilities

-Perform budget and accounting support functions within Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) and associated feeder systems.

-Conduct monthly obligation validation and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy of commitments, obligations, and expenditures.

-Review and resolve suspended, unmatched, and abnormal financial transactions in coordination with appropriate stakeholders.

-Process and track funding documents and purchase requests within N-ERP.

-Utilize Defense Travel System (DTS), SYNCADA, Continuous Monitoring Program (CMP), and related Navy financial systems to support reconciliation and reporting requirements.

-Collect, consolidate, and monitor obligation data to support accurate month-end financial reporting.

-Analyze legacy and prior-year financial transactions to maintain data integrity and support audit readiness efforts.

-Provide user assistance and technical support related to financial system transactions and reporting processes.

-Assist in preparation of documentation required for internal reviews and audit sustainment activities in accordance with DoD Financial Management Regulation (DoD FMR 7000.14-R).

Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in federal financial management. 


Required Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent experience in Navy financial management, accounting support, or related financial operations.
  • Experience performing obligation validation and reconciliation within N-ERP or similar Navy financial systems.
  • Practical experience reviewing and resolving unmatched or suspended financial transactions.
  • Working knowledge of DTS, SYNCADA, CMP, and related Navy financial systems.


Clearance
  • Secret or above


Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring reconciliation deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a structured Navy operational environment.
  • Familiarity with audit readiness or financial inspection support activities.

Position is based on education and years of experience beyond minimum qualifications as well as internal equity.
