About the Role:
Able Home Healthcare in San Diego, CA is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Home Health Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring accurate reimbursement and seamless revenue cycle operations within a growing home health organization. Responsibilities:
- Process and submit accurate medical claims for home health services to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
- Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for home health diagnoses and procedures
- Review and audit clinical documentation to ensure coding compliance and accuracy
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and manage appeals
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Ensure compliance with CMS home health billing regulations and OASIS documentation requirements
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing and coding experience, preferably in home health or skilled nursing
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding and home health-specific billing guidelines
- Knowledge of Medicare home health PPS, RAPs, and PDGM billing requirements
- CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification preferred
- Experience with home health EMR/billing software (e.g., Kinnser, MatrixCare, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
