In this role, you will: Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding general human resources inquiries. Refer complex questions and issues to the appropriate individual or department when necessary. Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes. Administer the organization's leave of absence and disability management programs. Ensure timely filing of workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with insurance carriers regarding claim management and return-to-work programs. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Serve as a change agent by supporting implementation and improvement of HR policies, procedures, and practices. Maintain accurate employee data within HRIS and vendor systems. Respond to employee requests, questions, and concerns in a timely manner. Escalate issues and concerns to the Director of Human Resources as appropriate. Provide guidance and support in resolving employee relations matters, including investigative support when required. Create and distribute HR reporting and metrics to internal stakeholders. Assist with recruitment activities and candidate screening as needed. Provide backup support for benefits administration and payroll functions. Perform additional duties as assigned. What we’re looking for We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and ready to make a positive impact. QualificationsEducation High school diploma, equivalent, or GED. Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (preferred). Experience 5 or more years of Human Resources experience. Experience in one or more HR specialty areas, such as: Recruitment and selection Training and development Compensation and classification Benefits administration Equal employment opportunity compliance Experience working with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred). Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information. Experience working in a nonprofit organization (preferred). Experience working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) (preferred). Conditions of Employment 21 years of age or older A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record are required for this role. This role requires travel within the region where services are provided. Final candidates must successfully complete a background check. Physical Demands & Work Environment This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee must be capable of writing, using a computer keyboard, telephone and related office equipment. Ability to lift 10lbs. required.
