Job DetailsJob Location: CC 01 - Mision Valley - San Diego, CA 92108Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $23.50 - $25.50 HourlyJob Shift: DayJob Category: Health Care The Lead Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clinical support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. This role provides leadership, guidance and support to Medical Assistants while working collaboratively with physicians, practice providers and administrative staff. The Lead MA is responsible for MA scheduling, clinic assignments, inventory management and maintain standardized clinical workflows across multiple orthopedic specialties.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Serve as primary resource and mentor for Medical Assistants. Coordinate daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow. Assist providers with patient care, examinations, procedures, injections, casting, splinting, brace applications and other orthopedic treatments as needed. Ensure Medical Assistant adhere to clinical protocols. Monitor workflow and make staffing adjustments throughout the day to maximize efficiency. Staff Scheduling and Clinic Coordination Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly Medical Assistant schedules. Assign Medical Assistants to clinics based on provider schedules, clinic volume, specialty needs etc. Coordinate coverage for vacations, sick leave and unexpected absences. Communicate any schedule changes promptly to care coordinators and administrative staff. Inventory and Supply Management Manage back office clinical supply inventory. Order medical and office supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Does not include HA’s or PRP kits. Monitor usage trends to reduce waste and control supply costs. Coordinate with vendors and purchasing departments to ensure timely delivery of supplies when needed. Maintain organization of supply rooms and ensure proper storage of medical equipment. Staff Development Train staff on clinical procedures, electronic medical record(EMR) workflows and office policies. Provide ongoing coaching, support and performance feedback. Assist management with competency assessments and performance evaluations. Promote teamwork, professionalism and excellent customer service. Quality and Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA and organizational policies. Maintain accurate clinical documentation within the electronic medical record. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Communication Serve as a liaison between providers, clinical staff, management and ancillary departments. Communicate operational updates and workflow changes effectively. Assist in resolving patient and staff concerns in a professional and timely manner. Qualifications Orthopedic experience is recommended but not required. Bilingual in English/Spanish is recommended. 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience current CPR/BLS card basic computer skills are required.
