We’re hiring an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant / Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy Intellectual Property Litigation team in our downtown San Diego office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive litigation professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting complex, high-stakes matters.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a key role in supporting attorneys handling sophisticated intellectual property and complex commercial litigation matters in federal courts and administrative forums. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, responsive, and capable of managing a heavy litigation desk with competing deadlines.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting, formatting, proofreading, and managing pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and other litigation documentsÂ
- Handling heavy district court e-filing, including federal court filings without the use of a full-service e-filing vendorÂ
- Maintaining attorney calendars and tracking litigation deadlines across multiple mattersÂ
- Communicating professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendorsÂ
- Assisting attorneys with logistics and preparation for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and case strategy meetingsÂ
- Supporting matters involving coordinated or complex litigation procedures, including JCCP matters where applicableÂ
- Assisting with matters before the International Trade Commission (“ITC”), or learning ITC procedures and filing requirements as neededÂ
- Collaborating closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative team members to support the overall needs of the practice groupÂ
What We’re Looking For
- At least 7 years of litigation legal assistant or litigation legal secretary experience within a law firm environmentÂ
- Intellectual property litigation experience strongly preferred; substantial federal court filing experience will also be consideredÂ
- Experience with district court e-filing and federal litigation procedures requiredÂ
- Familiarity with JCCP or other complex litigation matters preferredÂ
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindsetÂ
- Flexibility and willingness to work occasional late hours to support filing deadlines and trial needsÂ
- Ability to work in the San Diego office at least three days per weekÂ
- Interest in or ability to support billable work is a plus

Procopio offers generous total compensation packages. Typical pay range is from $85,000 – $100,000+ depending on experience. If your pay expectation is outside this range, we still encourage you to apply. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance.
