Job DetailsJob Location: Center For Positive Changes - SAN DIEGO, CA 92120Salary Range: $26.00 - $32.00 HourlyLead a Team That Changes Lives Center for Positive Changes (CFPC) is seeking an experienced Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) to serve in a Head of Service (HOS) role within one of our Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Programs (STRTPs). This leadership position combines direct behavioral health services with program coordination to ensure youth receive high-quality, trauma-informed care in a safe and therapeutic residential environment. Working under the direction of the Program Manager/Clinical Director, you'll collaborate with therapists, residential staff, social workers, probation officers, and community partners to support treatment implementation, service coordination, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes for youth. If you're passionate about youth mental health, collaborative leadership, and creating meaningful change, we'd love to meet you.   What You'll Do Primary Responsibilities Provide Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) within the MHRS scope of practice Deliver rehabilitation, psychoeducation, and skill-building services to youth and families Reinforce treatment goals established by licensed clinicians Support crisis intervention, safety planning, and behavioral stabilization Coordinate services with therapists, social workers, probation officers, schools, and community providers Facilitate Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings and multidisciplinary treatment meetings Complete documentation in compliance with CalAIM, DHCS, STRTP, and Medi-Cal requirements Maintain accurate electronic health records Participate in ongoing staff training and professional development Head of Service Responsibilities As the Head of Service, you'll also: Coordinate day-to-day mental health service delivery within the STRTP Monitor implementation of treatment plans and rehabilitation services Support compliance with DHCS, STRTP, CARF, and agency standards Coordinate services for youth receiving off-site behavioral health treatment Work closely with Quality Assurance to maintain documentation and regulatory compliance Collaborate with the Program Manager/Clinical Director to support program operations Assist with scheduling treatment services, staff coverage, and program activities Promote a safe, structured, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment QualificationsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:  A qualified candidate must meet the requirements for one (1) or more of the following:  Master’s degree or PhD AND at least two (2) years of full-time equivalent (FTE) direct care experience working in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment. OR Bachelor’s degree AND at least four (4) years of full-time equivalent (FTE) direct care experience working in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment. OR Associate’s Arts degree AND at least six (6) years of full-time equivalent (FTE) direct care experience working in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment.
