POSITION SUMMARY
The Parent Educator plans, coordinates, and teaches an instructional program that addresses the intellectual, emotional, cultural, social, and physical needs of children, adolescents, and parents. This individual supports respectful, reciprocal interactions between youth and their parents/guardian, provides weekly parenting groups, participates in weekly MDT meetings as a consultant on parenting needs of clients' parents, and is available as a consultant to Case Managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Parent Support and Education (100%)
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver instructional programs addressing the intellectual, emotional, cultural, social, and physical needs of children, adolescents, and parents;
• Deliver evidence-based or structured parent education curriculum designed to strengthen parenting skills and support positive youth behavior;
• Foster respectful, reciprocal interactions between youth and their parents or guardians;
• Facilitate weekly parenting groups for parents and caregivers;
• Engage parents and guardians in family strengthening activities that support youth accountability and healthy decision making;
• Support families in understanding juvenile diversion expectations and reinforce parenting strategies that promote positive youth outcomes;
• Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings as a consultant on parenting needs and family dynamics;
• Support parents and guardians in developing effective skills to strengthen family relationships and promote positive youth outcomes; and
• Serve as an available consultant to Case Managers and Probation Officers regarding parenting concerns and family support strategies.
