About the Role:
Skilled Nursing Pharmacy in San Diego, CA is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in accurately preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications for skilled nursing facility residents
- Process and verify medication orders, including controlled substances, in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Manage medication cycle fills, blister packs, and unit-dose dispensing for long-term care patients
- Coordinate with nursing facility staff to ensure timely and accurate medication delivery
- Maintain accurate patient medication profiles and update records in the pharmacy management system
- Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DEA regulations, and long-term care pharmacy standards
Requirements:
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT) required
- PTCB or ExCPT national certification preferred
- Prior experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or institutional pharmacy setting preferred
- Familiarity with unit-dose packaging, cycle fills, and eMAR systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume dispensing environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with nursing facility staff
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure
