Our growing team is looking for a Project Manager for our Special Projects & Controls Division to provide leadership, planning, organization, coordination, and control of Company projects to achieve profitability, customer satisfaction, and growth objectives in alignment with Jackson & Blanc's R.A.I.S.E. Values. This person is responsible for the administration and execution of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, contract management, forecasting, project reporting, and successful project closeout.


Provide leadership, planning, organization, coordination, and control of Company projects to achieve profitability, customer satisfaction, and growth objectives in alignment with Jackson & Blanc's R.A.I.S.E. Values. Responsible for the administration and execution of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, contract management, forecasting, project reporting, and successful project closeout.

 

JOB DETAILS

MAJOR TASKS/DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ACCOUNTABILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE ROLE:

WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION:



  • Collaborate during project design and development phases and establish project execution plans and schedules.
  • Ensure project scope, objectives, deliverables, and contractual requirements are clearly defined, documented, and understood.
  • Verify the timely procurement and availability of all jobsite materials, equipment, permits, and subcontracted services.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to minimize schedule, cost, or quality impacts.
  • Review all project documentation during turnover meetings to ensure a complete understanding of project requirements and assigned responsibilities.
  • Plan, assign, and manage labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other resources to achieve project profitability and timely completion while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, cash flow forecasts, and profit projections.
  • Negotiate, award, and administer subcontract agreements in accordance with company policies.
  • Facilitate jobsite coordination meetings and prepare accurate project status reports for customers and management.
  • Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and Accounting team to complete project closeout activities, including final cost review, punch list completion, customer training, billing, collections, and closeout documentation.
  • Coordinate permitting, engineering, and jurisdictional approval processes as required.
  • Schedule, prepare agendas for, and lead key project milestone meetings, including Release, Kickoff, Controls Coordination, Progress Review, and Closeout meetings.
  • Work closely with Superintendents and Foremen to develop and implement project-specific execution plans.
  • Maintain positive client relationships through consistent communication and proactive issue resolution.
  • Participate in professional, industry, and community organizations to cultivate relationships and increase company visibility.
  • Support customer retention and business development efforts through participation in marketing, networking, and sales initiatives.
  • Prepare, present, and negotiate Change Orders, Requests for Information (RFIs), and other project-related correspondence.
  • Participate in estimating and pricing scope changes for assigned projects.
  • Monitor project performance through regular comparison of planned versus actual schedule, budget, labor productivity, and profitability metrics.
  • Take prompt corrective action when project performance deviates from established goals.
  • Implement a formal review process for all change orders to ensure proper authorization is obtained before work proceeds.
  • Work closely with field leadership to ensure compliance with all company and customer safety requirements, including Method of Procedures (MOPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), site-specific safety plans, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and records within company software platforms.
  • Utilize company software platforms, including PROCORE, COINS, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office applications in accordance with company standards.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of field experience in mechanical services, HVAC systems, facility maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance activities preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in HVAC, Mechanical Construction, Building Controls, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $100,000 to $2,000,000+.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, PROCORE, Autodesk, and project management software.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
