Overview

HD Biosciences Inc., a WuXi AppTec company, offers biology-focused preclinical drug discovery services to biotech and pharmaceutical clients. We offer our clients comprehensive service platforms around target validation, plate-based pharmacology, hit identification and lead discovery, in vivo pharmacology, as well as other research and development services.

 

We are seeking an initiative-taking and skilled scientist to join our fast-growing bioanalysis team. The position will independently design, execute, trouble shoot and deliver the projects with LC-MS (liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry), prioritizing large molecules such as biologics, peptides, ADCs (antibody drug conjugates), LNPs (lipid nanoparticles), and oligos, and including small molecule modalities when necessary.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • This is a laboratory-based role. Hands-on bench work is required
  • Provides scientific and operational support for bioanalysis group
  • Actively contributes and applies expertise and knowledge to collaborations with partners in the design and execution of related studies
  • Contributes to project proposal preparation
  • Leads ongoing projects to meet expected timelines
  • Contributes for new capability implementation and team building
  • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
  • Communicates with clients for designing, analysis, reporting and recording activities
  • Performs job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures

Qualifications

  • PhD with 4+ years of relevant industry experience, MS with 7+ years of experience in Bioanalysis and Mass Spectrometry, and/or related field
  • Strong scientific knowledge and hands-on technical expertise in LC-MS-based bioanalysis and drug discovery workflows. Industry experience in a CRO environment is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience supporting ADC, biologic, LNP, small-molecule and/or oligonucleotide programs is strongly preferred.
  • Technical expertise:
  • Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative LC-MS workflows for ADCs, LNPs, peptides/proteins, biologics, small molecules, including associated sample preparation techniques
  • Strong competency with a broad range of LC-MS instrumentation, including triple quadrupole (QQQ), QTOF, and Orbitrap platforms
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS method development, optimization, troubleshooting
  • Experience developing and executing ADC bioanalytical assays, including characterization and/or quantification of ADCs, antibody/antibody-drug conjugate components, payloads, metabolites, and relevant catabolites
  • Experience with LNP analysis by LC-MS, including characterization and/or quantitative analysis of LNP-associated components, lipid components, payloads, or related analytes
  • Experience with DMPK and bioanalysis, including quantitative analysis of drug candidates and metabolites in biological matrices
  • Strong experience with sample preparation from tissues, cells, plasma/serum, and other biofluids
  • Proficiency with relevant data analysis and bioinformatics software, such as Skyline
  • Prior experience with in vitro assays and/or ex vivo pharmacology studies supporting drug discovery programs is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to lead or support studies beyond the LC-MS area, including cross-functional projects and drug discovery activities as needed
