About the Role:

Contribute to cell culture process development activities for the advancement of innovative assets from early development through commercialization by executing high-quality scientific studies and generating reliable, data-driven insights. In this role, you will build foundational expertise in relationships between cell culture process parameters and product quality and support critical project decisions through careful experimentation and analysis. Working within a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you will develop strong technical capabilities while contributing meaningfully to the success of development programs.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Apply basic scientific or engineering principles to cell culture process development activities including definition, optimization, characterization, and validation

  • Contributes scientific analysis to support cell culture development decisions under guidance of senior staff

  • Supports process scale-up and technology transfer initiatives

  • Independently design and execute experiments aligned with defined project objectives

  • Evaluate and implement improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing consistency

  • Identify process challenges and perform trouble-shooting activities within assigned scope

  • Support laboratory operations including equipment configuration, maintenance, and operation

  • Procure, install, and maintain laboratory instrumentation

  • Document research and development activities in accordance with quality standards

  • Provide support for contract manufacturing activities and external interactions as assigned

  • Promote and ensure safe laboratory practices

  • Provide input to select sections of CMC documentation as appropriate

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, bi chemical engineering, or similar scientific discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience OR

  • MS/MA degree in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or similar scientific discipline and some industry experience preferred OR

  • PhD in biology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or similar scientific discipline and some relevant experience preferred

  • Experience with cell culture techniques in a process development environment including hands-on experience with various bioreactor models and bioreactor scales. Must be skilled in aseptic technique

  • Working knowledge in process optimization approaches and understanding of potential process risks

  • Familiarity with high throughput cell culture development and with current technologies for improvement of cell productivity and product quality

  • Familiarity with cGMP requirements preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of laboratory equipment and tools

  • Good knowledge of scientific or engineering principles, methods, and techniques

  • Demonstrates ability to interpret experimental data and identify inconsistencies

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding intellectual property and proprietary information

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Applies structured problem-solving within a team environment

  • Recognizes anomalies in data and identifies potential experimental issues

  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral

  • Demonstrates analytical thinking skills

  • Emerging understanding of broader project impact

  • Ability to meet established deadlines

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $89,800.00-$123,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
