Help reinvent how housing gets designed, permitted, and built in America.
Cedar is building the operating system for urban housing delivery. We combine architectural expertise with software, automation, and data systems to dramatically accelerate how projects move from land acquisition to approved designs and construction. The result: faster timelines, higher quality, lower risk, and more housing in the cities that need it most.
Our team blends architects, engineers, and product builders. We design beautiful, responsive housing — and we build the software systems that make great architecture scalable.
The Role
We’re looking for a Product Designer to help shape the Cedar platform.
The problems we’re tackling are messy and real: evaluating development sites, navigating zoning constraints, designing buildings, and turning those decisions into real projects that get built. These workflows are currently handled through a mix of spreadsheets, PDFs, GIS tools, and architectural software.
Your job is to turn that complexity into software that feels clear, powerful, and intuitive.
You’ll work closely with engineers, product leaders, and architects to design new tools from the ground up — exploring ideas, prototyping quickly, and helping ship features that people use every day.
You’ll also help establish the design system and product language that keeps Cedar’s platform consistent as it grows. This is a chance to shape the foundation of a product that will evolve across many tools and workflows over time.
If you enjoy designing systems, untangling complicated workflows, and building products that solve real-world problems, you’ll have a lot of room to do great work here.
