Position Summary:

Under general direction and independently and/or as part of a team, apply scientific and cross-functional knowledge to achieve project goals by designing, executing, interpreting complex experiments and generating comprehensive reports, managing laboratory operations, and supporting long-term scientific projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with current laboratory personnel on collaborative projects as guided by project plans.
  • Independently develop and implement experiments, assays and techniques necessary to meet the goals of assigned projects.
  • May direct the work of scientific and non- staff working on assigned projects.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the science related to assigned projects and to be able to contribute to project discussions in a productive and meaningful way.
  • Effectively present results and ideas related to assigned projects both verbally and in writing. 
  • Lab Management: Oversee daily lab operations, maintain specialized equipment, manage inventory/orders, and enforce safety or regulatory compliance. 
  • Perform other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Ph.D. or other advanced degree in a biological science or related field and

Experience: Three (3) years post-Ph.D. or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained is required

Certifications, Licenses, etc: None.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and publish research projects
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Be responsible and have strong time management skills
  • Able to analyze and resolve issues of moderate complexity
  • Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office

Compensation: The expected Hiring Range for this position is $71,822.00 - $89,000.00 commensurate with skills and experience.
