About the Role:
This role is for a mid-level Mechanical Designer who can operate independently, lead coordination, and deliver high-quality designs—not someone still needing heavy oversight.

Who This Role Is For:
- Â You have solid experience in U.S.-based commercial HVAC design
- Â You are confident working in Revit and producing complete mechanical design sets
- Â You can manage your workload and meet deadlines without constant supervision
- Â You understand multidisciplinary coordination and can resolve design conflicts
- Â You want to grow into a Senior Engineer or leadership role

What You’ll Do:
- Â Design HVAC systems for commercial, mixed-use, and institutional projects
- Â Perform heating and cooling load calculations and ventilation analysis
- Â Design ductwork, piping, and hydronic systems
- Â Coordinate equipment selection and system layouts
- Â Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams
- Â Lead or participate in coordination meetings and resolve design conflicts
- Â Respond to plan check comments and construction administration (CA) issues
- Â Review work for quality and mentor junior designers as neededÂ

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days):
- Â Producing complete and accurate mechanical design packages with minimal revisions
- Â Effectively coordinating with other disciplines and resolving issues proactively
- Â Demonstrating reliability in deadlines, communication, and design quality
- Â Contributing to overall team efficiency and project deliveryÂ

Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- 4–6+ years of MEP mechanical (HVAC) design experience
- Strong experience with U.S.-based commercial projects
- Proficiency in Revit and mechanical design tools
- Experience performing HVAC load calculations and system sizing
- Working knowledge of mechanical codes and California requirements
- Ability to work on-site in San Diego or relocate prior to start

- Experience with duct and hydronic system design
- Familiarity with Title 24 and California energy compliance requirements
- Experience leading coordination meetings
- Ability to mentor junior designers and review work for quality
